The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an ex officio investigation for the crime of "insulting a public official due to their duty" due to Ekrem İmamoğlu's statement in court, "There is only one criminal organization in this case, and that is the prosecution."
In a statement made by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that during the hearing held yesterday by the Istanbul 40th Heavy Penal Court, an ex officio investigation was initiated against the defendant Ekrem İmamoğlu for the crime of "insulting a public official due to their duty" due to his remarks that appeared to be directed at the judiciary members involved in the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, known to the public as the "İmamoğlu organized crime group for profit," stating, "There is only one criminal organization in this case, and that is the prosecution."
