It was learned that numerous bullets hit the building. Following the incident, teams dispatched to the area launched an investigation to determine how the attack occurred and the identities of the perpetrators.
THE ATTACKERS WERE MASKED
According to a report by Sözcü, the person or persons who carried out the attack were stated to have arrived at the scene masked. For this reason, it was noted that the identities of the suspects have not yet been determined. Security cameras are being examined, and evidence obtained from the scene is also being evaluated in detail.
POLICE LAUNCHED A WIDE-RANGING INVESTIGATION
Police teams launched a comprehensive operation to capture the attackers who fled after opening fire. As investigations continue in front of the Otokoç General Directorate, activity was observed around the building.
AN INVESTIGATION HAD BEEN LAUNCHED AGAINST RAHMI KOÇ
Although no official link has been announced regarding the attack, it is also being investigated whether the incident is related to developments following a joke about a 'Kurdish female patient' that Rahmi Koç told at a hospital opening, which drew significant public reaction.
The Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation against Rahmi Koç on charges of 'publicly insulting a segment of the public' due to his statements allegedly targeting women and a specific ethnic identity. Koç, in his statement, said, 'I sincerely apologize for my words, which did not intend to target any identity.'
