A statement from the army indicated that a high-ranking member of Hezbollah was targeted in the attack, while Israeli media suggested that the individual in question is Haytham Ali Tabatabai, who is considered the second leader of Hezbollah after Secretary-General Naim Qassem and holds the position of the organization's de facto chief of staff.
