The attempt by U.S. soldiers to declare a beach on the Mexico border a "restricted area" and close it has led to a serious crisis between the two countries. While the Mexican Navy removed six signs placed on the beach, a statement from the Pentagon indicated that the closure of the beach was "accidentally carried out."
American soldiers stationed at the Mexico border have sparked controversy between the two countries with their attempt to close off a beach along the coastline with a "no entry" warning. The warning signs placed by the soldiers included the statement "This land owned by the Department of Defense is designated as a restricted area" in both English and Spanish.
MEXICAN NAVY REMOVED THE SIGNS
Following the incident, the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that naval units had removed six signs placed on the beach. Images that went viral on social media have brought the border policies between the two countries back into the spotlight.

In response to the growing backlash, the Pentagon stated that the closure of the beach was "carried out by mistake." Officials indicated that there had been an operational confusion in the area.

Meanwhile, it was recalled that after taking office in January, US President Donald Trump instructed that the name of the Gulf of Mexico be changed to "America's Gulf."
