Recently, there has been an increase in cases of food poisoning. After dinner at the dormitory affiliated with KYK where Adıyaman University students stay, 70 students were hospitalized due to poisoning, while 266 inmates at Sakarya Open Prison were also treated for poisoning. Additionally, in Rize, 40 students were hospitalized after being poisoned by a milk dessert served at dinner in a student dormitory.
There is an increase in poisoning cases. Recently, some students in dormitories and some inmates in prisons fell ill after eating. In three cities, 376 people were hospitalized on suspicion of poisoning.
STUDENTS FELL ILL AFTER DINNER IN DORMITORY
In the dormitory affiliated with KYK where Adıyaman University students reside, some students became unwell after dinner. 70 students, both male and female, reported symptoms of nausea and dizziness. The students who were hospitalized on suspicion of food poisoning were treated. It was reported that the students receiving treatment were not in life-threatening condition, and an investigation was launched regarding the incident.
INMATES POISONED IN PRISON
In Sakarya Open Prison, canned fish was distributed to inmates during dinner. After the meal, a large number of inmates fell ill. The number of those who became unwell increased every minute, and samples were taken from the food distributed at the meal. It was recorded that 266 inmates were treated, and outpatient treatments continued.
STUDENTS WHO ATE DESSERTS GOT POISONED
A similar report came from Rize. Students staying in a dormitory ate a milk dessert during dinner. However, after a while, some of the students fell ill. 40 students were hospitalized with complaints of dizziness, nausea, and abdominal pain.
12-YEAR-OLD EREN DIED IN ISTANBUL
Recently, there has been an increase in the number of similar reports. Three days ago, in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul, a child lost his life in the hospital to which he was taken on suspicion of food poisoning. The child named Eren Yılgın, who was found half-conscious at home by his mother, was claimed to have fallen ill due to the chicken he ate. The chicken döner shop where Eren shopped was sealed by municipal teams. Lastly, on Friday evening in Istanbul, 25 people were hospitalized after being poisoned by the lahmacun they ate.
