Arçelik announced that the production at its factory in Thailand, which is part of Koç Holding, will be halted and the facility will be closed on December 1, 2025. All employees working at the factory will have their severance and notice pay fully compensated, and their employment contracts will be terminated.
Arçelik, which has focused on the Asian market in recent years as part of Koç Holding's global production strategy, has decided to close its refrigerator factory in Thailand.
The company announced on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that the production facility located in Rayong will cease operations as of December 1, 2025.
411 EMPLOYEES' EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS WILL BE TERMINATED
According to the KAP announcement, the closure of the factory will result in the termination of employment contracts for 411 employees. Arçelik plans to make approximately $3 million in payments for severance pay and notice period wages to the employees.
KAP ANNOUNCEMENT RELEASED
The statement included the following remarks: "As a result of the analyses conducted within the scope of Arçelik's global efficiency and optimization efforts, it has been decided to halt production at the Refrigerator Facility located in Rayong, Thailand. It is planned to transfer the capacity utilizations at the facility to other facilities owned by our Company."
The new arrangement in the company's production processes is expected to be gradually implemented by 2026.
