The Great Offensive, which began on August 26, 1922, crowned with a magnificent victory on August 30, 1922, and subsequently swept the invaders from the homeland with heroism, culminating in their drowning in the sea in İzmir on September 9, 1922, is an extraordinary event that dazzles in every sense, revealing widespread results and echoes that have reached to this day.
It is not only the military superiority on the field that brings together attack and victory.
Behind and at the core of the August 30 Commander-in-Chief's Battle are strategy mastery, political tactics expertise, a well-prepared phase that brings the distant close, the ever-present virtues of intellect and patience, and of course, the love of faith and independence that no hostile force can overcome.
The August 30 Victory heralded the Republic of Turkey and also marked the end of the long period of wars.
The Turkish nation is a victorious nation.
This victorious spirit is mixed with the determination of national unity and solidarity.
From east to west, from north to south, every individual of our esteemed nation is united with the longing for a free and independent future, and the blood of the martyrs shed has made this unity even stronger.

With these thoughts, I celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the Victory of the Commander-in-Chief's Battle of our great nation and our heroic Turkish Armed Forces; I respectfully, with mercy and gratitude, commemorate the heroes of the National Struggle, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and the dear martyrs who willingly sacrificed their lives for the survival of our state and nation.
