Beşiktaş officially applied to the Turkish Football Federation due to the behavior of Yusuf Ziya Gündüz, who served as the fourth official in the match against Göztepe, towards Felix Uduokhai.

The Super League giant Beşiktaş has made an official application to the TFF regarding the fourth referee Yusuf Ziya Gündüz during the Göztepe match played in the 23rd week of the Super League.

OFFICIAL APPLICATION TO TFF FOR YUSUF ZİYA GÜNDÜZ

Uğur Fora, the General Secretary of the black and whites, stated that the behavior exhibited by Yusuf Ziya Gündüz towards Uduokhai during the match was unacceptable and announced that they have made an official application to the TFF regarding the referee.

''AN ATTITUDE THAT DEGRADES IS UNACCEPTABLE''

Regarding the issue, Uğur Fora said, ''During the Beşiktaş JK - Göztepe match played on 22.02.2026, the disrespectful attitude exhibited by the fourth referee, who was on duty at the sidelines, is far from professionalism, contrary to the spirit of the sport, and has been followed by our club with deep sadness and anger. Our athletes, who fight until the last drop of their sweat on the green field, act within the framework of respect not only towards their opponents but also towards all stakeholders of the game. However, it is absolutely unacceptable for an official responsible for the management and order of the match to exhibit a provocative and degrading attitude instead of producing a solution. As Beşiktaş JK, we want our community and the public to know that we will not remain silent against this outrageous behavior.

In this context, the necessary official application process has been initiated with visual evidence of the attitude exhibited by the referee in question to the Turkish Football Federation and the Central Referee Board. No referee or official has the privilege to adopt an attitude that undermines the weight of the Beşiktaş jersey and the honor of the athlete. As Beşiktaş JK, we will continue our struggle to ensure that justice is manifested not only in scores but also in on-field behaviors.''
