According to the messages shared by Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized that they are on the same page with Washington, especially regarding Syria and Iran. Macron's message highlighted his difficulty in understanding Trump's stance on the Greenland issue, yet he called for increased diplomatic contacts.
Macron stated that he could organize a G7 meeting in Paris after the Davos Summit, mentioning that Ukrainian, Danish, Syrian, and Russian officials could also be invited to the side talks. The French leader also invited Trump to dinner in Paris before returning to the US.
