Borsa Istanbul Down At Thursday's Open

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened on Thursday at 1,423.00 points, dropping 0.58% or 8.31 points from the previous close.

At Wednesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down by 0.78% at 1,431.31 points, with a daily trading volume of 12.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.45 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.6300 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, from 8.5370.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 10.3500, versus 10.3460, while one British pound traded for 12.1000 Turkish liras, up from 12.0760.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $74 as of 10 a.m. local time . -
