Borsa Istanbul Down At Weekly Open

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened the week at 1,376.37 points on Tuesday, down 0.06% or 0.86 points from the previous close.

At Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 2.20% at 1,377.23 points, with a daily trading volume of 16.83 billion Turkish liras ($2.09 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.1000 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, from 8.0940 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 9.7700, versus 9.7310, while one British pound traded for 11.3700 Turkish liras, up from 11.3370 at the last week's close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $67.68 as of 10 a.m. local time . -
