Cemal Enginyurt, a member of parliament who resigned from the Democratic Party, responded to questions about which party he would join. Enginyurt stated that the necessary groundwork for a new formation in the center-right has not been established, and he also announced that he would not be joining the Victory Party or the Good Party.

The 15th Ordinary Congress of the Democratic Party, organized under the slogan "the word is again with the nation," was held in Ankara recently; Gültekin Uysal was re-elected as the chairman by receiving the votes of 765 out of 1,208 delegates. Uysal's surprise decision to hold the congress two days ago increased the tension within the party, and as a result of the discussions, deputies Cemal Enginyurt and Salih Uzun resigned. After the resignations, it became a matter of curiosity which party the deputies would join; Enginyurt closed the doors to two parties.

DOORS CLOSED TO TWO PARTIES

Speaking to a group of journalists in the Parliament, Enginyurt stated that the necessary ground for a new formation in the center-right does not exist.

According to a report by Uğur Duyan from Yeni Şafak, Enginyurt expressed that he is distant from the İYİ Party and the Victory Party, saying, "Can we establish a formation in the center-right with one of the parties? For example, which center-right can you establish with the Victory Party? I do not see myself as belonging to the Victory Party. Can the İYİ Party represent the center? Every time I listened to Mr. Müsavat, I thought I was at the Ülkü Ocakları congress," he said.
