Chinese Ambassador Jiang Xuebin made statements to Sinan Burhan, the Editor-in-Chief of the Millet News Agency, regarding the war that began with the attacks of the US and Israel on Iran. Xuebin said, "We are trying to prevent World War III together with Turkey. China is not a party to the war. The US should stop its provocations to overthrow the Iranian regime. The Strait of Hormuz is the lifeblood of energy."
While the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran continue, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Xuebin made important statements to Sinan Burhan, the Editor-in-Chief of the Millet News Agency.
"THE SOLUTION IS TO RETURN TO INTERNATIONAL LAW"
Stating that "it is unacceptable for the US and Israel to attack Iran while negotiations between Iran and the US are ongoing; the assassination of a leader of a sovereign country and the incitement of regime change are also unacceptable," the ambassador said, "All of these have violated international law and the fundamental norms of international relations. The sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Iran and the Gulf countries must be respected. Any attack on innocent civilians and civilian targets must be condemned.
Currently, the top priority is to immediately halt military operations and prevent the further spread of war. Efforts should be made to return to dialogue and negotiations as soon as possible to restore peace. The fundamental solution is to return to adherence to international law and the fundamental norms of international relations," he stated.
"WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT DEVELOPMENTS LIKE TURKEY"
In response to the question, "Is the main target not Iran but China?" Xuebin said, "China is not a party to the war; however, the prolongation of the war and the escalation of tensions are not in the interest of any party. From this perspective, like Turkey, we are also concerned about developments and are affected by regional stability. The Chinese side always advocates that war and the use of force cannot fundamentally solve problems. The correct way to resolve issues is through dialogue and negotiation. Disputes and disagreements must be resolved through political and diplomatic means. China will continue to contribute to the maintenance of regional peace and stability," he stated.

In response to the question, "How would the closure of the Strait of Hormuz affect China? What is the importance of this strait?" the ambassador replied: "The Strait of Hormuz and the waters surrounding it are an extremely important transit route for international goods and energy trade. This region is vital for energy security and the world economy. All parties are responsible for ensuring the stable and uninterrupted supply of energy. The security and stability of this region is in the common interest of the international community.
We maintain close political, economic, commercial, and humanitarian cooperation with the Gulf countries and do not want to see an escalation of tensions in the region. The Chinese side calls on all parties to immediately halt military operations, avoid escalation of tensions, and prevent further impacts on the global economy. China will take necessary measures to ensure its own energy security."
