Former AK Party mayor and deputy Savcı Sayan argued in a post on his social media account that pressures on President Erdoğan over the "Terror-Free Turkey" discussions will not yield results. Stating that Erdoğan will not back down on the state, nation, and flag, Sayan said, "Would the MHP be disturbed? It doesn't matter at all."
Savcı Sayan, who previously served as mayor and member of parliament in the AK Party, made striking statements about the "Terror-Free Turkey" process in a post on his social media account. Sayan argued that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would not back down on issues related to "the state, the nation, and the flag," and claimed that nationalist groups would unite around Erdoğan in such a scenario.
"HE WILL NOT ACCEPT DEMANDS THE PUBLIC WILL NOT ACCEPT"
In his post, Savcı Sayan recalled the 2014 resolution process and alleged that "unacceptable conditions" were imposed at that time as well. Sayan stated that Erdoğan did not back down during that process, saying: "No matter how much pressure you put on Mr. Erdoğan, if you put demands before him that the public will not accept, he will still not step back. He will once again choose the state, the nation, and the flag."
"WOULD THE MHP BE DISTURBED? IT DOESN'T MATTER AT ALL"
Sayan also addressed potential fractures within the People's Alliance in his post. He argued that if Erdoğan stood before the nation saying, "I will not let this country be divided or surrendered," he would receive widespread support, adding: "Would the MHP be disturbed? It doesn't matter at all."
"SUPPORT WILL COME FROM THE BASES OF THE İYİ PARTY AND THE ZAFER PARTY"
Savcı Sayan also suggested that support could come from different political viewpoints in such a process. Emphasizing that support could be obtained from the bases of the İYİ Party, the Great Unity Party, and the Victory Party, Sayan stated: "Support will come from the İYİ Party and its base, from Yavuz Ağıralioğlu's front, from the Great Unity base, and even from Victory Party voters."
"EVEN MANSUR YAVAŞ COULD STAND ON THE SAME LINE"
Sayan argued that Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş could also stand on the same line with Erdoğan when it comes to "the integrity of the homeland." In his post, he said: "Even figures with strong state reflexes like Mansur Yavaş can stand on the same line alongside Mr. Erdoğan when the issue is the integrity of the homeland."
Here is the relevant part of Savcı Sayan's post:
During the 2014 resolution process, despite all good intentions, deep structures and the PKK wanted to disrupt the process. They imposed unacceptable conditions. Mr. Erdoğan dismissed them with a wave of his hand.
Then, Apo and the deep ones started trench warfare. They thought they would bring Turkey to its knees through Kandil.
They thought they would defeat Tayyip Erdoğan with trenches.
But it was about the homeland…
He still did not step back.
He did not surrender the state to anyone.
Today, I am carefully watching the 'Terror-Free Turkey' debates…
Some people think they can corner Mr. Erdoğan again through the terror-free Turkey rhetoric and Apo.
I am writing this clearly here:
No matter how much pressure you put on Mr. Erdoğan, if you put demands before him that the public will not accept, he will still not step back.
He will once again make his choice for the state, the nation, and the flag. He will not surrender this country to Apo and his supporters.
What would be the political cost of this?
Would there be fractures within the People's Alliance?
Would the MHP be disturbed?
It doesn't matter at all…
If Erdoğan stands before the nation saying, 'I will not let this country be divided or surrendered,' even many nationalist groups currently opposing him would lend support.
Support will come from the İYİ Party and its base, from Yavuz Ağıralioğlu's front, from the Great Unity base, and even from Victory Party voters.
I wouldn't even be surprised… Figures with strong state reflexes like Mansur Yavaş can stand on the same line alongside Mr. Erdoğan when the issue is the integrity of the homeland. Because the matter transcends politics.
Then Mr. Erdoğan would win the election with over 60% of the vote.
Because this nation's red line is the state, the homeland, and the flag.
Therefore, everyone should be aware of who they are dealing with.
Those who left the AK Party to form new parties…
Those who betrayed and challenged…
Those who said, 'We will grow ourselves'…
What happened?
They could not grow in the eyes of the nation against Erdoğan. Because Erdoğan is not just a politician; he has built a profile of a leader who does not step back in times of crisis.
As Mr. Baykal said:
'Don't insist on opposing Erdoğan…'
He is like the rough waves of the Black Sea; he sweeps away the petty calculations in his path.
Take note of this too.
