Recently, due to the increase in fuel prices, the local tradesmen stated that there has been a price increase in products as well. The tradesmen, particularly noting the rise in prices of eggplants, cucumbers, and peppers, said, "All products have increased in price. Prices have gone up. The price of eggplant is 170 lira, cucumber is 100 lira, pepper is 100 lira; people can't afford to buy them for their homes, what can they do? This fuel price increase has affected us a lot."
Recently, due to the increases in fuel prices, a local tradesman stated that there has also been a price increase in products.
A tradesman in the Kadirli district of Osmaniye said, "The diesel price increases inevitably affect us, it's unavoidable. If it costs 3 lira per kilometer, it will now cost 5 lira, and accordingly, the costs will rise. This is inevitable. It's not just us; we buy goods from Osmaniye, for example, there are also those coming from Antalya to Adana, and we have to consider them as well. They come in large trucks with heavy loads, so we have no chance of recovery, may God make our end good, inshallah."
Another tradesman said, "All products have increased in price. Prices have risen, tomatoes have risen, peppers have risen, eggplants have risen, cucumbers have risen. People cannot buy them; they cannot meet their needs at home. The price of eggplant is 170 lira, cucumber is 100 lira, pepper is 100 lira; people cannot buy them for their homes, what can they do? This diesel price increase has affected us a lot," he said.
"WHY ARE PRICES INCREASING?"
Another citizen said, "Due to the diesel price increase, transporters are forced to add extra costs. When diesel prices rise, we also buy at higher prices. If we were using 200 lira worth of gas per week, it has now increased to 240-250 lira. Of course, we carry this cost from here; the effects of diesel, gas, and petrol are reflected in the products, and that directly affects the consumer. It affects us, and it affects the consumer as well," he stated.
Another citizen also said, "The diesel price increase means the death of farmers. Diesel is now 64 lira; even if it were 100 lira, this economy would not improve. They say 'oil was found here and there in the Gabar mountain,' why are prices increasing? What do we have to do with the war? This situation is not good. What can a person do? They have to add extra costs, and the citizens cannot afford that. Actually, support should be provided to our farmers. How will a person plow the field without diesel? The next generations are finished," he said.
