STRIKING EXPRESSIONS

Recently, after the drone attack on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which is affiliated with Azerbaijan, the letter from President Aliyev reduced the tension that arose between the two countries.

In his letter, Aliyev stated, "I once again extend my condolences to you on the tragic passing of your father, the Religious Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei. The relations between Azerbaijan and Iran stem from the will of our peoples who have lived in an environment of neighborhood and friendship throughout history. I express my hope that we will work together to develop our interstate relations on the basis of mutual respect and trust, contributing to the welfare of our peoples. I congratulate you once again on your appointment to this high position and wish peace and tranquility to the friendly and brotherly people of Iran."

DRONE ATTACK ON NAKHCHIVAN

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that drone attacks were carried out from Iranian territory on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which is affiliated with Azerbaijan, on March 5.

One of the drones fell near the international airport in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, while the other fell near the school building in the Shekerabad village. The attacks damaged the airport building and injured 4 civilians.

The Iranian Ambassador to Baku, Mojtaba Dermichilu, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a protest note was delivered.

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev described the attacks as "terrorist acts" and instructed the army to prepare and carry out retaliatory actions.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claimed that there were "no connections" to the attack and that it was carried out by Israel to blame his country.
