Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known to the public as Cübbeli Ahmet Hoca, published a video on his social media account. In the video, he claimed that a couplet in the tomb of Mevlana's mother, Mümine Hatun, located in Karaman, signifies 'polytheism.'
"WARNING TO THE PRESIDENCY OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS"
Stating that he applied to the Presidency of Religious Affairs for the removal of the couplet in question, Ünlü said, "Recently, after visiting the blessed grave of our esteemed mother Mümine Sultan, the honorable mother of Hazreti Mevlânâ in Karaman, some friends there told me that there was a couplet written on the sarcophagus, and they read some of its phrases."
Ünlü, who also published his video with the title "A very important warning to the Presidency of Religious Affairs," stated, "I was horrified by this, and I reacted by saying: 'the phrase is of disbelief, whoever says, reads, or believes this becomes a polytheist.' They also informed me that they had complained to a few places regarding this matter, but they reported that this incident, which is stuck between the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, could not be resolved.
I also wrote that when I recently saw that the tops of two crosses on the upper walls of the Kariye Mosque were not covered, just as I made a notification, I am warning the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Culture about this matter as well."
