The 10th day of the war between the US-Israel and Iran began with striking developments. Iran announced that the country's new religious leader is Mojtaba Khamenei, while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps simultaneously launched missile attacks on Israeli and US bases. In the operation targeting military and economic objectives in Israel, there was significant damage and fires at critical infrastructure facilities. Haifa Port was almost reduced to ashes, and numerous missiles hit the area around Ben Gurion Airport.
The war between the US-Israel and Iran continues with all its intensity. In the war, which has entered its 10th day, significant developments occurred on the fronts of Iran and Israel.
The 88-member Assembly of Experts in Iran has determined the name of the successor to the religious leader Ali Khamenei, who lost his life in the attack by the US and Israel. The Assembly of Experts, which initially stated that they would keep the name secret for security reasons, made consecutive announcements within 24 hours.
"NEW LEADER MUJTEBA KHAMENEI" Ayatollah Meshkvari, a member of the Iranian Assembly of Experts, stated, "The new leader of the revolution was elected by the overwhelming majority of the votes of the Assembly of Experts. The new leader is Mujteba Khamenei."
Mujteba Khamenei "KHAMENEI'S NAME WILL CONTINUE" Ayatollah Eshguri stated, "The name of Ayatollah Khamenei will continue as the leader of Iran." Ayatollah Javidan also said, "Mujteba Khamenei is aware of the country's conditions. The opinion of the Assembly of Experts is in favor of Mujteba Khamenei."
FIRST MESSAGE FROM PEZESHKIAN Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian congratulated Mujteba Khamenei, who was elected to the position of country leader by the Assembly of Experts. In his message, the Iranian President stated, "Overcoming the current problems in the country will be possible with your wise leadership, as well as the establishment of an environment based on the people's trust, solidarity, participation, and broad-based resistance." Pezeshkian expressed his wishes for success from God for the new leader in maintaining unity in the country and building a progressive, independent Iran.
OPERATION COINCIDING WITH THE DECISION The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a comprehensive missile attack on Israel's strategic areas simultaneously with the election of the new leader Mujteba Khamenei. In the operation, which targeted military and economic objectives in the region, significant damage and fires occurred in Israel's critical infrastructure facilities.
HAIFA PORT HAS FALLEN TO FLAMES In the new missile attacks on Israel, Haifa Port has virtually burned to ashes in critical areas of Israel.
In addition to the facilities at the port, which is known for its strategic importance and significant contribution to the Israeli economy, oil refineries and power plants in the region were also targeted by the missiles. With the damage to energy transmission lines, many cities, especially Tel Aviv, were plunged into darkness.
STRATEGIC FACILITIES AND AIRPORT TARGETED It was reported that a large number of missiles hit the area around Ben Gurion Airport.
ISRAEL'S RETALIATION DID NOT DELAY In Tehran, the capital of Iran, which carried out consecutive retaliatory attacks on Israel, explosion sounds were also reported. Mehr News Agency announced that explosion sounds were heard from various regions of Tehran. Some Iranian channels reported that the explosion occurred in the western part of the city.
US-ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON IRAN While negotiations continued between the governments of Tehran and Washington, Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran on February 28. Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel.
In the US-Israel attacks, many high-ranking officials, including Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed. According to Iranian officials, 1,332 people lost their lives in the US-Israel attacks.
