In the indictment prepared within the scope of the investigation into the "Aziz İhsan Aktaş criminal organization," a decision of non-prosecution was made regarding Ahmet Özer, who faces a prison sentence of 3 to 9 years, for the charge of 'receiving bribes' due to 'insufficient evidence.'
"Aziz İhsan Aktaş organized crime" investigation, the indictment prepared regarding 7 mayors who were suspended from duty and 193 suspects has been accepted by the Istanbul 1st Heavy Penal Court.
REQUEST FOR 3 TO 9 YEARS OF IMPRISONMENT FOR AHMET ÖZER
In the indictment, it was requested that Ahmet Özer, who was suspended from the Esenyurt Municipality after being arrested, be sentenced to imprisonment for 3 to 9 years for 'manipulating a tender' from 2 different acts and 'forgery of a private document' from 2 different acts.
NON-PROSECUTION FOR THE ACCUSATION OF 'RECEIVING BRIBES'
A decision of non-prosecution was made against Özer for the accusation of 'receiving bribes' on the grounds of 'insufficient evidence'. The reason for the non-prosecution decision was explained as follows: "It is claimed that the suspect Aziz İhsan AKTAŞ gave bribes to the officials, the mayor, and the deputy mayors during the tender process of the Bilginay company, which belongs to him, in the tender that was awarded by the Esenyurt Municipality in 2024. The suspects stated in their defenses that they did not accept the accusations. No sufficient evidence has been obtained to file a lawsuit regarding the alleged crime, and the allegations remain abstract in nature."
DETENTION STATUS WILL CONTINUE
Ahmet Özer, whose detention status will continue within the scope of the investigation, is also facing a request for imprisonment of 7 years and 6 months to 15 years for the charge of 'being a member of an armed terrorist organization' in the case he is being tried.
