The scene encountered in a butcher shop during inspections conducted in the Serik district of Antalya was nauseating. It was determined that 55 kilograms of meat unsuitable for consumption were offered for sale in the shop, which was characterized by a strong odor and a lack of hygiene. It was noted that a large portion of the meat on the counter had spoiled and started to smell, leading to the business being sealed and banned from operation.
During routine inspections carried out by the Serik Municipality Zoning Directorate teams in the Cumhuriyet Neighborhood in Antalya, a food scandal was uncovered.
THEY ENDANGERED PUBLIC HEALTH
It was determined that 55 kilograms of meat unsuitable for consumption were offered for sale in a butcher shop owned by a foreign national. In the inspection conducted by the team under the management of Zoning Director Eşref Şimşek, the heavy odor inside the shop and the completely unsanitary environment drew attention. It was reported that a large portion of the meat on the counter had spoiled and started to smell, and that the cleanliness conditions of the establishment were far below the regulations.
THE DOOR WAS LOCKED
Upon the instruction of Serik Mayor Kadir Kumbul, the establishment was sealed and banned from operation. The health-hazardous products seized were collected by the teams for destruction.
The zoning teams announced that inspections would continue frequently to ensure food safety in the district. It was emphasized that no establishment endangering the health of citizens would be tolerated and that legal sanctions would be applied decisively.
