Following the ongoing earthquakes in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir, a noteworthy statement was made by Prof. Dr. Şener Üşümezsoy. Üşümezsoy stated, "The aftershocks should have been centered in Sındırgı. This means that these earthquakes are not aftershocks, but rather precursors to a new earthquake. There could be a new earthquake of magnitude 6.0 in Balıkesir Sındırgı."
After the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir, the aftershocks felt in the region continue.
As expert evaluations increase following the last tremor of 4.9, the direction of the fractures along the fault line and new risk areas have also come under scrutiny.

Noting that the earthquakes in Sındırgı are progressing southward, Üşümezsoy issued a critical warning after the recent quakes.

AHMET ERCAN: ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE WOULD CAUSE DAMAGE IN SINDIRGI
After the 4.9 magnitude earthquake in Balıkesir, seismologist Ahmet Ercan, who joined a television channel's broadcast, explained whether it would trigger another tremor. Ercan stated, "It is too early to say whether this earthquake will trigger another one. This earthquake occurred deeper than the previous one. Sındırgı is a somewhat underestimated region. Another major earthquake would cause significant damage in Sındırgı," he said.
