THEY FLED WITHOUT STOPPING
The incident occurred in the evening hours on Halkalı Street in the Kemalpaşa neighborhood of Istanbul's Küçükçekmece. According to reports, a suspect delivering supplies to a confectionery on the street was captured by the facial recognition system of the regional KGYS camera. At that moment, the police teams conducting an operation on the street were informed of the situation. The teams stopped the suspect and requested identification. After the suspect claimed that his ID was in the vehicle, he got into the car with two others and fled.
THEY RAN OVER THE ELDERLY WOMAN WITH THE VEHICLE
While the police teams were trying to stop the vehicle, the suspects entered Osmanbey Street with the car. The vehicle ran over a woman named S.T. (60) who was crossing the street at that moment. The elderly woman was dragged under the vehicle and seriously injured. Health and backup police teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. After the initial intervention, the health teams transported the seriously injured S.T. to the hospital. It was reported that the elderly woman, who is still under treatment, remains in critical condition.
Following the incident, teams initiated efforts to capture the individuals in the vehicle, finding the car abandoned about 1 kilometer away from the scene. Police efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects are ongoing.
