A 13-year-old child lost his life after falling into an elevator shaft in the Sincan district of Ankara. The incident took place in a site located on 4th Avenue in Fevzi Çakmak neighborhood of Sincan. According to the information received, Berensu Bolat, a 13-year-old who lives in another building in the site, got stuck in a malfunctioning elevator with his friend. LOST HER LIFE BY FALLING INTO THE VOIDAfter Bolat informed his relatives about the situation over the phone, a fire brigade team was dispatched to the building. Bolat, who was trapped on the 6th floor, fell into the void and crashed to the ground while rescue efforts were underway. The other child who was trapped was rescued, and the medical teams who arrived at the scene determined that Bolat had lost her life. Bolat's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy after the examinations. The relatives of the deceased girl had a nervous breakdown. "WE GOT STUCK IN THE ELEVATOR" THEY CALLED THEIR FRIENDSÖzgür Berber, one of the neighbors who spoke about the incident, said, "My son was at home when he received a call from his friend saying, 'We got stuck in the elevator, please help.' My son told me about it. I said, 'Since it's not our building, we can't do anything, but they should find the manager of that building or a resident to help.' They called the fire brigade. The children were stuck on the 6th floor. The fire brigade opened the door from the 5th floor, and there were two people in the elevator. They rescued the boy. While they were trying to rescue the girl, something happened, either their hands slipped or they couldn't hold on, and she fell into the elevator shaft. Such an incident has never happened before, it's the first time."
