Emre Kınay, the founder of Duru Theatre, responded to calls for the cancellation of comedian Gökhan Ünver's stage performances. Kınay stated that they could not cancel the shows in April due to legal contracts, but the performances in May have been canceled.
Gökhan Ünver, who gained recognition on social media with his content, faced backlash for remaining silent after Ekrem İmamoğlu's arrest, and later mocked those who criticized him with a video. In the video he shared on his Instagram account, Gökhan Ünver placed visuals of boycott messages directed at him in the background and added the note, "My mental is thinking whether to post a good holiday story or not." Following this move, the intensity of the reactions increased.
"THE POSITION OF DURU THEATER IS CLEAR"
Theater and TV actor Emre Kınay responded to the reactions directed at Gökhan Ünver, who will perform at Duru Theater, which he founded. Kınay stated regarding the calls to cancel Gökhan Ünver's performances on April 10 and 29 at Duru Theater, "The position and line of Duru Theater is clear. My stance is also clear. We are working to avoid extrajudicial executions, and you can be sure that we will act within public responsibility."

Kınay later informed that they could not cancel the performances in April due to legal contracts, but the performances in May have been canceled. Kınay said, "Gökhan Ünver's announced plays will not take place on the Duru Theater stage in May." He also noted that they closed the promotion for the April performance.
