The head of the Syrian General Intelligence, Enes Hattap, stated that the security institutions of the overthrown regime have tortured the people for more than 50 years, and announced that the institution will be restructured within the framework of its original purposes. Hattap said, "The security institutions will be restructured, all security units will be dissolved, and they will be reshaped in a way that is worthy of our people's history, struggle, and past." Hattap, who expressed that the security units tortured the people for more than 50 years during the period of the overthrown Baath regime, pledged to the Syrian people to fight day and night to ensure their security and protect their rights in the best possible way. ENES HATTAP WAS APPOINTED AS THE NEW HEAD OF INTELLIGENCEAfter the overthrow of the Baath regime in Syria, Enes Hattap was appointed as the new head of the intelligence organization on December 26 in the temporary administration established. Enes Hattap is known as the person who established the Public Security Organization, which is the intelligence and security structure of the civilian administration in Idlib. Hattap, who has been working closely with the leader of the new administration in the country, Ahmed Shara, joined the forces resisting the U.S. army that invaded Iraq in 2003, leaving his university education unfinished. In the following years, Hattap became the head of the security and intelligence unit of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, led by Shara.
