President Erdoğan made striking evaluations on the agenda topics in his speech at the 41st OIC Ministerial Meeting.
Making a historic call for Sudan, which has been turned into a bloodbath by civil war, President Erdoğan stated, "The Islamic world must stop the bloodshed in Sudan. The country must achieve peace."
STRIKING WORDS FROM PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN
Highlights from President Erdoğan's statements are as follows; "Different evaluations and ideas were expressed regarding sustainable tourism, economic and financial cooperation. Since our last meeting, we have witnessed historical developments in the world. For years, I have talked about the suffering of the Syrian people from this podium. Our Syrian brothers have paid heavy prices. During this process, we hosted Syrian refugees. We fulfilled our brotherhood and neighborly duties in the best way possible. The atrocities that turned Syria into a bloodbath for 14 years have finally come to an end. Syria has entered a recovery process. The victorious are the Syrian oppressed.
"SATISFYING"
It is satisfying to see Syria represented at the OIC meeting after a long time. We continue to support the people of Syria. The sanctions that hinder economic development in Syria are gradually being lifted with our support. We are now encouraging the private sector to direct its investments to the Syrian field. In this direction, we are launching a special support program for Syria under the OIC umbrella. Our main goal is for our neighbor Syria to stand up as soon as possible; the support of the Islamic world is very important for lasting prosperity.
"WE WILL NEVER LEAVE THEM ALONE"
I see our organization's solidarity with the people of Cyprus as very important. We will never leave the Turkish Cypriot people alone. We will stand by them in their rightful cause.
"GAZA HAS TURNED INTO A HUGE PILE OF RUBBLE"
The traces of the traumas experienced by innocent children in Gaza may never be erased. Gaza has witnessed one of the most brutal genocides of the last century. Gaza has turned into a huge pile of rubble. Israel has killed 70,000 Palestinians. Israel's record is very bad. Despite the ceasefire agreement, they continue their attacks. The Israeli government is doing everything it can to block humanitarian aid. We express our wish for the Reconstruction Plan to be implemented as soon as possible. From the very first day, we have been among the countries that reacted to the genocide. We will continue our struggle until the state of Palestine is established.
CONFLICTS IN SUDAN
It is important for us to stand by the people of Sudan and continue our development support. The Islamic world must stop the bloodshed in Sudan. We must protect Sudan's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and full independence."
