While the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran continue, a striking message has come from Europe. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated, "The risk of further escalation of tensions is real. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a reliable transition in Iran. A transition that restores stability and paves the way for a lasting solution."
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, held separate phone calls with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman.
"A RELIABLE TRANSITION IN IRAN IS URGENTLY NEEDED" Ursula von der Leyen stated in a press release after the meetings that they addressed Iran's "reckless and indiscriminate" attacks, saying, "The risk of further escalation of tensions is real. Therefore, a reliable transition in Iran is urgently needed. A transition that restores stability and paves the way for a lasting solution."
Von der Leyen continued: "This must mean the cessation of Iran's military nuclear and ballistic missile programs and the end of its destabilizing actions in the air, on land, and at sea. Above all, it must reflect and support the democratic aspirations of the brave people of Iran."
Ursula von der Leyen US-ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON IRAN Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran on February 28 while negotiations were ongoing between Tehran and the Washington administration. Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel. In the US-Israel attacks, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with many high-ranking officials, was killed. The Iranian Red Crescent announced that 201 people lost their lives and 747 were injured in the bombings targeting the country.
