Teksüt Bandırmaspor, which eliminated its opponents in both rounds of the playoffs against Trendyol 1. Lig third-placed Solwie Energy Fatih Karagümrük, will compete in the final match this evening for promotion to the Süper Lig.
The last team to be promoted to the Süper Lig after Kocaelispor and Gençlerbirliği in the Trendyol 1st League will be determined in the play-off final match between Solwie Energy Fatih Karagümrük and Teksüt Bandırmaspor. The play-off final at the New Sakarya Atatürk Stadium will start at 20:00. The referee for the match will be Yasin Kol.
KARAGÜMRÜK'S GOAL IS THE SÜPER LIG
After starting the season with head coach Şenol Can, David Sassarini and Orhan Ak have also served at Fatih Karagümrük, with Onur Can Korkmaz recently appointed as the head of the team.
Despite being in the top 2 for a long time in the league, the Istanbul representative, which was overtaken by Gençlerbirliği, finished the season in 3rd place with 66 points. Fatih Karagümrük, which qualified directly for the play-off final due to the regulations, will once again take the field for a Süper Lig visa that it has previously held.
Fatih Karagümrük, which was promoted directly to the Süper Lig under head coach İlyas Datça (Ilie Datcu) in the 1982-1983 season, previously won the play-off in the 2019-2020 season under head coach Şenol Can by defeating Adana Demirspor in penalties in the final match held in Ankara.
BANDIRMASPOR IS IN PURSUIT OF A FIRST
Bandırmaspor, one of the three teams that did not change their head coach in the league, finished the league in 5th place with 64 points and goal difference under the management of Mustafa Gürsel. Bandırmaspor eliminated Erzurumspor FK in the first round of the play-off and Geosis Boluspor in the second round, becoming Fatih Karagümrük's opponent in the final.
In the 2021-2022 season, Bandırmaspor, again coached by Mustafa Gürsel, reached the final in the play-off but lost to İstanbulspor and could not be promoted to the Süper Lig.
Having never played in the Süper Lig before, Bandırmaspor will become the second team to represent Balıkesir in the Süper Lig after Balıkesirspor if they receive a Süper Lig visa.

In the matches where the two teams faced each other in the league this season, Bandırmaspor prevailed over its opponent with scores of 1-0 and 2-1. In 14 encounters in professional leagues, Bandırmaspor has 8 victories, Fatih Karagümrük has 3, and 3 matches ended in a draw. Wesley Moraes, who became the top scorer of the league alongside Oğulcan Çağlayan from Kocaelispor with 21 goals in the regular season, will be the biggest asset for Fatih Karagümrük in the final.
Marco Paixao, a 40-year-old player from Bandırmaspor, who has been the top scorer in the 1st League four times in his career in Turkey, finished the season with 17 goals and scored one goal in each of the two matches against Geosis Boluspor in the play-off.
The Portuguese striker scored the only goal for his team in the 90th minute of the play-off final against Altınordu in the 2020-2021 season, contributing to the black-and-white team's return to the Süper Lig after 18 years.
