In a statement from the Istanbul Governorate, it was reminded that according to the Meteorology's assessments, strong downpours are expected in Istanbul starting from tomorrow evening, and it was stated that "Precautions should be taken against negative impacts such as floods, waterlogging, lightning, strong winds during rainfall, and disruptions in transportation."
'YELLOW' CODE WARNING FOR 8 PROVINCES
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior announced that a "yellow" coded downpour warning has been issued for Istanbul, as well as for Manisa, Aydın, Edirne, Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, Balıkesir, İzmir, and Çanakkale.
In a statement from the ministry, it was noted that according to the latest information from the Meteorology General Directorate, the ongoing downpour and thunderstorms in the coastal Aegean are expected to be locally strong in the western districts of Manisa and Aydın until the night hours.
The statement also mentioned that the rainfall and thunderstorms expected in the southern parts of Edirne and Kırklareli, the western part of Tekirdağ, and the western coasts of Balıkesir, as well as around İzmir and Çanakkale, are expected to be locally strong.
