Private Soldier Vedat Zorba, who was serving in the Paws-Clamp operation area in northern Iraq, was injured as a result of the explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by terrorists. Zorba, who was wounded, was martyred at the hospital where he was taken. The Ministry of National Defense announced the sad news.

MARTYRED IN THE HOSPITAL
Infantry Contracted Private Vedat Zorba in the Claw-Lock operation area was martyred as a result of the explosion of an improvised explosive device previously placed by terrorist organization members. The Ministry of National Defense announced the sad development with the following statement:
"In the Claw-Lock operation area, on May 22, 2024, our heroic comrade P.Contr.Pvt Vedat ZORBA was severely injured as a result of the explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) previously placed by separatist terrorist organization members, immediately transferred to the hospital, despite all interventions, he could not be saved and was martyred.
In this incident that deeply saddens and grieves us, we extend our condolences and patience to the grieving family and to the Turkish Armed Forces and noble nation."
