In the Çiğli district of İzmir, lawyer Ali Aydın, the former co-chair of the Human Rights Association (IHD), was killed by being struck on the head with a stone by M.D.E. (30) while out for a morning walk. M.D.E., who was taken into custody, confessed to the crime and claimed that he committed the act under the influence of drugs and stimulants.
Former Co-Chairman of the Human Rights Association İzmir Branch, Lawyer Ali Aydın, lost his life as a result of an attack while taking a morning walk in the Çiğli district of İzmir.
KILLED BY BEING CRUSHED WITH A STONE
The incident occurred in the mountainous area of the Evka-2 region in the morning hours. Former Co-Chairman of the IHD İzmir, retired teacher and lawyer Ali Aydın was attacked while walking in the morning. Aydın, who was hit on the head with a stone, collapsed to the ground in a pool of blood. Health and police teams were dispatched to the area upon the notification of those nearby. It was determined that Aydın had lost his life under the control of the medical personnel. After the investigations by the police and the prosecutor, Aydın's body was taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institution's morgue.
CONFESSED EVERYTHING IN HIS STATEMENT
The police teams that initiated an investigation into the incident identified the suspect as M.D.E. and took him into custody. In his statement at the police station, M.D.E. confessed to his crime and claimed that he committed the act under the influence of drugs and stimulants. It was reported that M.D.E., who has a criminal record for drug offenses, is still undergoing processing at the police station.
STATEMENT FROM IHD
The IHD General Center announced on its social media account, "Our friend Lawyer Ali Aydın, who served as Co-Chairman of the IHD İzmir Branch and Regional Representative of the IHD in the past, has lost his life today as a result of an attack. The incident is being followed by our lawyer friends who are members of the IHD and the İzmir Bar Association. After the details of the incident are clarified, the necessary information will be shared with the public in accordance with the principle of investigation confidentiality. We extend our condolences to his family, relatives, and human rights defenders," thus announcing the incident.
