In Germany, a Saudi Arabian citizen doctor drove his vehicle into a crowd at a Christmas market, resulting in the deaths of 5 people and injuries to more than 200 others. A controversial claim has emerged from the German press regarding how the incident occurred. It was suggested that the police van's mobile barrier was positioned 5 meters away from where it should have stopped, and that the attacker took advantage of the gap left.
On December 20, in the city of Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, a vehicle attack on a Christmas market resulted in the deaths of 5 people and injuries to more than 200. Following the attack, a 50-year-old doctor born in Saudi Arabia, Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, was arrested and detained on December 22.
POLICE'S DEADLY NEGLIGENCE
While it remains a matter of curiosity how the attack occurred despite the security measures in place, a striking claim has emerged from the German press. Bild reported that the police van left a 5-meter gap from where it was supposed to act as a "mobile barrier," allowing the attacker to drive through the gap and into the crowd.
ATTACKER'S WILL ALSO FOUND
According to information obtained by the German news magazine Spiegel, investigators found Abdulmohsen's will inside the vehicle he rented on December 11 and used in the attack. In his will, which indicated he believed he would die in the attack, Abdulmohsen bequeathed all his assets to the German Red Cross.
It was also revealed that Abdulmohsen gave a video interview to an anti-Muslim US blog at a hotel in Magdeburg on December 12. In the interview, Abdulmohsen praised billionaire businessman Elon Musk and American conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
