Former AK Party Uşak Deputy Mehmet Altay passed away in the hospital where he was receiving treatment. It was reported that Mehmet Altay's funeral will be held after the afternoon prayer on Saturday, January 24, at Halil Efendi Mosque in Ulubey, and he will be buried in Ulubey Cemetery.
Former AK Party Uşak Deputy Mehmet Altay, who had been battling cancer for a while, passed away at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
53-year-old former AK Party Uşak Deputy Mehmet Altay has passed away. It was stated that Altay had been struggling with an oncological illness for some time.
AK PARTY'S SAD DAY
Admitted to Uşak Training and Research Hospital on January 16 due to his illness, Altay was transferred to the intensive care unit on January 20 as his health condition worsened. Despite all interventions, Altay, who continued his treatment in intensive care after the chemotherapy process, could not be saved.
STATEMENT FROM AK PARTY
In a written statement made by the AK Party Uşak Provincial Presidency, it was expressed that Altay's passing was met with deep sorrow, stating, "We have learned with great sadness about the passing of our former Deputy Mehmet Altay, who served our city for many years. We pray for mercy from Allah for the deceased; we wish patience and condolences to his grieving family, relatives, our organization, and all our fellow citizens."
CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FROM ÖMER ÇELİK
AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik also shared a condolence message for Altay. In a post on his social account, Çelik stated, "We are deeply saddened to lose our very valuable companion Mehmet Altay, who was our Deputy for the 24th, 25th, 26th, and 27th terms in Uşak. May his valuable family and our organization be consoled. May Allah have mercy on him, and may his place be paradise."
FUNERAL PROGRAM ANNOUNCED
It was reported that Mehmet Altay's funeral will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, after the afternoon prayer at Halil Efendi Mosque in Ulubey district, and he will be buried at Ulubey Cemetery following the funeral prayer.
