Former Devrek Mayor Çetin Bozkurt IRREGULARITY OPERATION IN DEVREK MUNICIPALITY On April 18, the police teams detained former CHP Devrek Mayor Çetin Bozkurt and former Human Resources Director Tuncay Ulupınar, along with R.K, N.Ç.K, E.K, İ.K, R.K, U.K, T.K, and N.D. Their procedures at the police station have been completed. The suspects, who underwent a health check, were brought to the Devrek Courthouse.
FORMER HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR ARRESTED Some relatives of the suspects, who came to the courthouse where police teams took extensive security measures, supported Bozkurt with applause during the transfer, while reacting to one suspect. Meanwhile, it was learned that suspects T.K. and N.D. were detained yesterday as part of the investigation. While suspect Tuncay Ulupınar was arrested by the court, 6 suspects were released under judicial control.
HOUSE ARREST DECISION FOR FORMER MAYOR A judicial control measure of "not leaving the residence" was decided for Çetin Bozkurt. Suspects R.K. and U.K. were released after their interrogation at the prosecutor's office. After leaving the courthouse, Çetin Bozkurt was supported by his relatives with applause and slogans.
CHP Deputy Chairman and Zonguldak MP Deniz Yavuzyılmaz stated in a press release in front of the courthouse after the decision that the investigation would continue, and therefore they needed to maintain their composure and calmness. The teams of the Provincial Police Department's Smuggling and Organized Crime Division had detained Bozkurt, along with R.K, N.Ç.K, E.K, İ.K, T.U, R.K, and U.K, during the operation conducted on April 18 regarding the allegations of "irregularities" in Devrek Municipality.
