In an operation against a crime organization based in Izmir, 15 people were arrested in an operation targeting those who obtained sexual content images using fake female profiles. The crime organization was profiting unfairly from victims by presenting themselves as 'mediator lawyers.'
In an operation against a criminal organization that defrauded citizens by taking control of their sexual content images through fake female profiles while introducing themselves as 'mediator lawyers' in 9 provinces centered in Izmir, 15 of the suspects detained were arrested.
MORE THAN 15 MILLION UNLAWFUL PROFIT GENERATED
According to the information obtained, teams from the Fraud Bureau of the Public Security Branch Directorate, coordinated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, conducted technical and physical surveillance on the criminal organization led by A.S.G. In the conducted operations, it was determined that the suspects communicated with 235 citizens across the country through fake female profiles in 2024 to obtain their sexual content images. It was found that the suspects later introduced themselves as 'mediator lawyers' to the victims from whom they obtained the images. The suspects, who created fear and panic among the victims by saying, "A lawsuit has been filed against you for the crime of sexual exploitation," were revealed to have generated more than 15 million TL in unlawful profit under the name of 'mediation fee'.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION IN 9 PROVINCES
As part of the ongoing investigation, action was taken to capture 30 identified suspects. Teams conducted simultaneous operations in Istanbul, Antalya, Adana, Mersin, Balıkesir, Kırklareli, Karabük, and Mardin, centered in Izmir, on January 13. In the raids, 27 suspects against whom there were arrest warrants were captured. The suspects, whose procedures were completed at the Public Security Branch Directorate, were referred to the courthouse. Of the suspects brought before the court, 15 were arrested and sent to prison.
