The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office informed the Istanbul Governorship that Ekrem İmamoğlu, Şişli Mayor Resul Emre Şahan, and Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık have been arrested as part of operations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office informed the Istanbul Governorship about the mayors who were arrested as part of operations against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).
REASONS FOR IMAMOĞLU'S ARREST HAVE BEEN REPORTED
Accordingly, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that IMM President İmamoğlu was arrested for "illegally recording personal data," "accepting bribes," "interfering in the tender of public institutions or organizations," and "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes."
SHAHAN AND ÇALIK WERE ALSO REPORTED
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office noted that Şişli Mayor Resul Emre Şahan was arrested for "aiding a terrorist organization," and Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık was arrested for "embezzlement" and "being a member of an organization established for the purpose of committing crimes."
