The incident took place at a bank branch in the 19 May district. Halit Hoşaf and Sadık Ö. started arguing in front of the teller at the bank. As the argument escalated, Sadık Ö. shot Halit Hoşaf in the abdomen and leg with a gun, causing serious injuries.

Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon receiving the report. Hoşaf, who was hit by 5 bullets, was taken to Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine Hospital for treatment. It was reported that Hoşaf's condition is critical.
