WHAT HAD HAPPENED?Hayri Kozakçıoğlu was found dead at his home by his wife Sabire Kozakçıoğlu on the morning of May 23, 2013. A licensed firearm was found near his body. Initial examinations indicated that Kozakçıoğlu had been shot from close range to the chest. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor, who conducted the investigation, determined that the death was a suicide based on evidence from the crime scene investigation, forensic medicine, expert opinions, and criminal reports, and decided not to pursue the case.
