The incident occurred around 21:30 in the evening at the Governor's intersection on Zeytin Dalı Boulevard in the Beyazkent neighborhood. According to the information obtained, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Branch teams, who were conducting an operation on the Karaman-Mersin highway, wanted to stop the car with the license plate 70 ADA 319, driven by R.K., on suspicion.

A chase began between the police and the car that started to flee without complying with the police's 'stop' warning. During the chase, the suspects' vehicle collided with a Citroen car with the license plate 70 ACL 174, driven by H.U., at the Governor's intersection.
2 PEOPLE WERE INJURED
After the accident, the area turned into a battlefield, and the driver of the car hit by the suspects and two other people in the vehicle were injured. Upon notification, health and numerous police teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were taken to Karaman Training and Research Hospital by ambulances after the first interventions were made at the scene.
The suspects, R.K. and E.K., who escaped the accident unscathed, were taken into custody and brought to the police department. The intersection, which was closed to traffic for a while due to the accident, was reopened to traffic after the vehicles were removed from the road.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
