U.S. President Donald Trump made a statement to reporters while negotiations were ongoing in Pakistan. Trump said, "We are not concerned whether an agreement will be reached in the negotiations. It doesn't matter to me whether we reach an agreement with Iran or not because we won the war."
U.S. President Donald Trump made striking statements to the press while negotiations with Iran were ongoing in Pakistan. Notably relaxed in his demeanor regarding the course of the ongoing negotiations, Trump expressed that whether or not an agreement is reached is not a priority for him. He emphasized that the U.S. is in a strategically superior position and stated that he is not focused on the outcome of the process.
"IT DOESN'T MATTER IF WE REACH AN AGREEMENT WITH IRAN, BECAUSE WE HAVE WON"
Touching on the diplomatic processes with Iran, Trump said, "It doesn't matter to me whether we reach an agreement with Iran because we have already won the war." The President, who claims that the U.S. is the dominant party in the negotiations, asserted that the outcome from the negotiating table will not change Washington's current victory.
"WE ARE IN DEEP NEGOTIATIONS WITH IRAN"
Trump stated: "We are in deep negotiations with Iran. We will win; they have been completely defeated. We have militarily defeated them. Beautiful tankers filled with natural gas and oil will soon come to our country. They left a few mines in the sea, but we completely eliminated their navy. They had a ship that laid 28 mines, and we sank it. We sent boats to clear the mines. What we are doing now is opening the Strait of Hormuz, which we are not even using right now."
