A woman who started working at a wedding dress company in Izmir fell from an unguarded staircase just two days later and was seriously injured. After a 15-day battle for her life, she survived and stated that her workplace had insured her immediately after the accident, and that her boss lied to the hospital police to avoid filing a work accident report, adding that the railings on the staircase were installed afterward.

In Izmir, 52-year-old Hacer Yaman started working at a bridal shop in Konak last February. Allegedly, she went downstairs after her foreman called her two days ago.

CHEATED DEATH

Yaman, who did not notice the stairwell, fell approximately 3 meters as soon as she took a step. The unfortunate woman, who suffered multiple fractures and serious injuries due to the fall, was taken to the hospital. There, Yaman was intubated and won her 15-day battle for life and was discharged.

HORRIFYING MOMENTS CAUGHT ON CAMERA

Meanwhile, the moment of the fall was captured by the workplace's security camera. The footage shows the woman not noticing the void and suddenly falling from about 3 meters, while the person next to her rushed down in fear to help.

WILL FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THE WORKPLACE

Hacer Yaman stated that during her treatment process, the workplace did not keep its promise to cover her hospital expenses, that she knew they made the insurance entry but did it right after the accident, and that they said she was in a job interview to avoid filing a work accident report. She also mentioned that the railings were made immediately after the accident and said she would file a complaint against the workplace.

"I STAYED INTUBATED FOR 5 DAYS"

Hacer Yaman, who said she was very surprised by what she experienced when she came out of intensive care, stated, "Two days ago, while working at the bridal shop where I just started, the foreman called me to the showroom downstairs. While he was showing me the job down there, I did not see the stairwell, and no one warned me. At that moment, I fell down, and I only remember falling. My vertebrae were broken in my back; 12 plates were inserted, I had surgery, and I have 32 stitches, and my ribs are also broken. I stayed intubated for 5 days in the intensive care unit of the private hospital, then I was taken to the state hospital's intensive care unit. After I was discharged two days after coming out of intensive care, when I opened my eyes in the hospital, the nurses there explained the situation to me. I was very surprised to hear that I had been intubated for 5 days and had been asleep at that moment," she said.

"THEY MADE MY INSURANCE AFTER I FELL"

On the other hand, Hacer Yaman stated, "My boss at the place I worked neither called nor asked. Supposedly, he was going to pay my salary during my recovery period. He did not pay my salary, nor did he call to ask. The incident has turned into a public case, and we will file a criminal complaint ourselves. Because there are no safety measures there. Not only did they not take precautions, but they also did not warn me. The area I worked in was not there. Moreover, they made my insurance entry immediately after my fall. I was just a 2-day employee there. They also told the hospital police that I was there for a job interview to avoid it being recorded as a work accident. I am complaining about the workplace," she said.
