The composer of the song "Çilli Bom," which millions know by heart, Kenan Küçüközcan, passed away at the age of 77 in Mersin. It was reported that the artist had been staying in a nursing home for some time, and only 5 staff members attended his funeral.

In the 1970s, the important composer and vocal artist Kenan Küçüközcan was hospitalized 10 days ago after falling ill at the nursing home where he was staying. Despite all the treatments, Küçüközcan passed away at the age of 77 in Mersin due to multiple organ failure.

5 PEOPLE ATTENDED HIS FUNERAL

It was learned that he had one son, but the famous composer had not been in contact with him for a long time. His funeral was taken from the morgue of Erdemli State Hospital to the Çet Tepesi Cemetery located in Koyuncu Mahallesi. Here, the funeral prayer led by an imam from the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Funeral Services was attended by 4 people who also work in the same unit. After the funeral prayer conducted with 5 people, including the imam, the artist's body was buried in the cemetery for the unclaimed.

Küçüközcan, who composed songs in Turkish and English and released 45 RPM records under the name 'Kenan', is noted for performing works such as Çilli Bom (Çillim, Çillim), Askerliğim Bitince, Ayrı Yaşayan Kalpler, Benim Yarım Çok Güzeldir, Deli Oğlan, Senden Sonra, and Küçük Yaşta Aldım Sazı Elime.

It was reported that the composer, who was also selected as 'Promising Male Artist of the Year' in 1972, lived in the USA for a while and returned to Turkey in 1996. The artist, who had been living alone in Mersin for a while but was said to have become unable to meet his needs in recent months, was placed in a nursing home in Erdemli district 2 months ago.
