In the Imranlı district of Sivas, a person repeatedly hit a puppy with a stick. The individual identified from the footage was fined 71,800 Turkish lira, and legal action has been initiated against them.
Last night, in the village of Türkkeşlik, located in the İmranlı district of Sivas, a person violently attacked a puppy with a stick for several minutes. Following the sharing of the violent footage on social media, teams from the İmranlı Municipality went to the village and took the injured puppy under protection.
PUPPY BEATEN WITH A STICK HAS FRACTURES AND INTERNAL BLEEDING
The puppy, which was taken from the municipality by some animal-loving volunteers, was brought to a veterinarian in the city center. It was determined that the puppy had fractures and internal bleeding in some areas. The gendarmerie teams identified the person who inflicted violence on the puppy as K.C., a resident of the village.
FINES IMPOSED
K.C., who inflicted violence on the puppy, was fined 71,800 TL by the Sivas Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate under the Animal Protection Law No. 5199. Legal proceedings were also initiated against him by the Public Prosecutor's Office.
STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
The Sivas Governor's Office also made a statement regarding the violent incident. In the statement, it was said, "The incident in question occurred in the village of Türkkeşlik, located in the İmranlı district of our province, and the person named K.C., who repeatedly hit the dog with a stick, was quickly identified by our gendarmerie teams, and legal proceedings have been initiated against him. A fine of 71,800 TL was imposed on the individual by the Sivas Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate under the Animal Protection Law No. 5199. Additionally, legal proceedings have also been initiated by the Public Prosecutor's Office. The puppy featured in the footage was taken under protection by the İmranlı Municipality teams during the night and was subsequently transferred to a veterinary clinic in the city center for close monitoring of its health condition by some animal-loving volunteers. We would like to inform the public that we will continue to stand against all forms of cruelty to animals and to resolutely protect the right to life of nature and all living beings."
