New details have emerged regarding the chilling father murder in Tokat. It has been revealed that M.C., who named his son after his murdered father, killed his father with an axe over inheritance issues.
A DISPUTE ARISEN DUE TO REAL ESTATE SALE
According to the information obtained, it was claimed that Zihni Cankurtaran, who came to his hometown Tokat from Greece some time ago, returned to the country after his son M.C. sold his real estate. It was alleged that after a dispute arose between the father and son, M.C. killed his father Zihni Cankurtaran with an axe. Allegedly, M.C. buried his father's lifeless body in the storage area next to the site pool in the Topçam Neighborhood Ahi Evleri Site, where he operated. It was also claimed that the suspect tried to conceal the body by covering it with lime.
THE DAUGHTERS' REPORT REVEALED THE MURDER
The incident came to light when the daughters living in Bursa reported the situation to the police after not hearing from their father for a long time. Following the report, an investigation was initiated by the Tokat Provincial Police Department's Homicide Bureau under the coordination of the Tokat Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and M.C. was taken into custody. It was claimed that the suspect described the murder in his statement at the police station.
NOBODY HAS YET COLLECTED THE BODY
After the prosecutor's examination, Zihni Cankurtaran's body was taken to the Tokat State Hospital morgue. It was learned that the body was kept in the morgue after the autopsy procedures. According to information obtained from officials, no application has been made so far to collect the body.

On the other hand, it was learned that M.C. named his 26-year-old son Zihni, and it was reported that besides M.C., 5 other people are being investigated as the investigation continues in multiple directions.
