In the case against Fatih Uluşan, who killed his ex-wife Bahriye Kalaycı with 55 knife stabs after their divorce in Konya, the prosecutor presented the main opinion. The prosecution requested an aggravated life sentence for the defendant, who said "I regret" during the hearing, without applying any reductions for provocation or good behavior.

In Konya, the prosecutor requested an aggravated life sentence for Fatih Uluşan (27), who killed his ex-wife Bahriye Kalaycı (25) with 55 knife wounds, without applying unjust provocation and good behavior reductions.

MURDER COMMITTED IN A VACANT LAND

The incident occurred on November 2, 2024, around 12:00 PM in the Emirler area of İsmil neighborhood, Karatay district. Fatih Uluşan went to the house of Bahriye Kalaycı, who he divorced in 2023 and is the mother of one child. After taking his ex-wife into his vehicle under the pretext of talking, Uluşan drove her to a vacant land. During the argument that ensued there, he stabbed Kalaycı 55 times. He also injured himself in the neck with the same knife.

UNFORTUNATE WOMAN DIED AT THE SCENE

After Uluşan called a relative to inform them, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. Medical personnel determined that Bahriye Kalaycı had died at the scene. The severely injured Fatih Uluşan was taken to Konya City Hospital by ambulance. After his treatment, he was discharged and arrested by the court, then sent to prison.

PROSECUTION: PREMEDITATED

The investigation conducted by the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office was completed, and a case was filed against Uluşan at the Konya 2nd High Criminal Court. The indictment stated that the defendant had obtained the crime tools in advance, carried out the act with cold blood, and that there were a total of 55 knife wounds on Kalaycı's body, 11 of which were fatal.

FAMILY SPOKE AT THE HEARING

Today's hearing was attended by Bahriye Kalaycı's mother Elife Kalaycı, father Ahmet Kalaycı, the detained defendant Fatih Uluşan, and the attorneys of both parties.

Father Ahmet Kalaycı, speaking at the hearing, said, "This man knew he would kill my daughter. He fixed the camera to a single angle. He brought two knives with him. After stabbing her, he sat by her head, smoked a cigarette, and waited for her to die. Where is the loyalty in stabbing her 55 times?"

DEFENDANT: I REGRET

Fatih Uluşan, who defended himself at the hearing, stated that he regretted his actions.

PROSECUTOR REQUESTS AGGRAVATED LIFE SENTENCE

The public prosecutor emphasized that it was established that the defendant committed the crime of 'premeditated murder of his ex-wife and the woman' and stated that unjust provocation and good behavior reductions should not be applied, requesting an aggravated life sentence.

The court panel postponed the hearing to a later date for the attorneys of both parties to prepare their defenses.
