The incident took place on the 4th floor of Block C in Atapark Konutları in Hurma Mahallesi, Konyaaltı district. Savaş Temirhanoğulları, the estranged wife of the site manager Fadim Temirhanoğulları, who had obtained a restraining order for 3 months, came home around 05:00. Savaş Temirhanoğulları fired 5 shots at her husband with a gun and left the house. Meanwhile, their daughter İ.T., who was sleeping in her room, thought she was having a nightmare and went back to sleep after hearing the gunshots. İ.T., a high school student, woke up around 08:30 with a phone call from a classmate. İ.T. came out of her room and when she saw her mother covered in blood, she left the house and knocked on the door of the neighbor across the street. İ.T. explained the situation to Berkan Torunoğlu, who opened the door, and they both went back to the house. Upon seeing Fadim Temirhanoğulları, Torunoğlu called the police and medical teams to the address. Health officials determined that Temirhanoğulları had lost her life.

Fadim Temirhanoğulları's first wife and their daughter from this marriage were saddened when they heard the news of her death. The police intervened and separated the father-daughter and Savaş Temirhanoğulları's relatives who wanted to see İ.T. After the police examination at the scene, Fadim Temirhanoğulları's lifeless body was taken to the morgue in a funeral vehicle. Meanwhile, Fadim Temirhanoğulları's relatives knelt down on the ground and cried out, "Where is justice for women, end these femicides." İ.T. was taken to a relative's house.

Neighbor Berkan Torunoğlu, who described what happened, said, "Around 05:00, my friend heard a gunshot. Then we went to sleep. I woke up around 08:00. After a while, someone knocked on the door. When I opened the door, I saw the neighbor's daughter. She was in shock. I asked, 'What happened?' and she said, 'My mom.' Then I immediately went to their house. The woman was lying on the floor. I thought she had fainted. A bullet had entered the right side of her head. She was losing a lot of blood. Her pulse was not beating. We took the daughter downstairs, she was already in shock. The woman and the man were in the process of getting a divorce, so there were problems between them. We did our best, but when we arrived, the woman was already cold. She was losing a lot of blood," he said.

The police have launched an operation to capture Savaş Temirhanoğulları, who was determined to be working as a security guard at an entertainment center in the Kemer district.
