In the Bor district of Niğde, 46-year-old Cemal Yaylacı seriously injured his 26-year-old wife, with whom he is in the process of divorce, with a knife. The young woman died in the hospital to which she was taken. The Niğde Bar Association, which draws attention to femicides, stated, "We will follow the process."

HE MURDERED A YOUNG WOMAN AND ATTEMPTED SUICIDE
Cemal Yaylacı (46) had a dispute with his wife Zeynep Yaylacı (26), who was in the process of divorce, for an unknown reason. As the argument escalated, Cemal Yaylacı attacked his wife with a knife he took from the kitchen. After stabbing his wife in the abdomen, Cemal Yaylacı cut his own body with the same knife. Both Zeynep Y. and Cemal Y. were taken to Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Training and Research Hospital by ambulances.
Despite the doctors' intervention at the hospital, Zeynep Yaylacı could not be saved. It was reported that Cemal Yaylacı, who attempted suicide with the same knife, is still receiving treatment in the hospital and is in critical condition.
The police investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
NIĞDE BAR ASSOCIATION: WE WILL FOLLOW THE PROCESS
Following the tragic event, the Niğde Bar Association made a written statement, announcing that they will be following the process in the fight against femicides. The statement emphasized that violence against women has become a bleeding wound of society, stating, "One more woman has been taken from life. As the Niğde Bar Association, we will follow the judicial process regarding the murder of Başak Zeliha Yaylacı to the end. We invite all relevant institutions and civil society organizations to act together in the fight against violence towards women. We share with the public that we will not leave our women unprotected and that we will follow the judicial processes, especially the criminal case of our fellow citizen Zeliha Yaylacı, to the end. We extend our condolences to Zeliha Yaylacı's family, relatives, and all our fellow citizens," the statement said.
