The incident occurred around 21:00 in the Büyük Bölcek neighborhood. Uğur Deniz went to his father-in-law Yılmaz Atak's house to talk to his wife, with whom he had been living separately for 2 years during the divorce process. A dispute arose between Uğur Deniz, a father of 2 who stated that he did not want a divorce, and his father-in-law Yılmaz Atak.
