Journalist Nagehan Alçı made statements on Ekol TV regarding the claim of "journalists financed by the IBB" mentioned in the indictment prepared for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, based on the statements of the secret witness "İlke." Alçı, who categorically denied the accusations against her, stated that she only had contact with Ekrem İmamoğlu and his team in the context of journalism.
"HOTEL ROOM" CLAIM CAUSED A BIG STIR
Alçı responded to the allegation that she met with Murat Ongun in a hotel room by saying, "I am very disturbed by news that are lies and slanders regarding this issue. A hotel room is definitely not the case; the mentioned place was an area used as an office. It was one of the offices of the IBB where people come and go."
MEETING LASTED 1-2 HOURS
Alçı also denied the claim of a "5-6 hour meeting in room 2604" mentioned in the allegations, stating that the meeting lasted at most 1-2 hours. Emphasizing that the allegations targeting her do not reflect the truth, Alçı said, "I have had no meetings with Ekrem İmamoğlu and his team outside of journalism. There is nothing more natural than a journalist exchanging ideas with politicians. I will sue everyone who slanders me."
"MURAT ONGUN GAVE INCORRECT INFORMATION"
Alçı also stated that Murat Ongun provided her with incorrect information on certain issues. While discussions regarding the allegations continue, Alçı's statements have resonated widely on social media.
