A female driver caught with a blood alcohol level of 1.12 promille in Aksaray reported another driver who warned her, "You can't drive like this," to the police, calling it "hooliganism." When the driver heard that her license had been revoked, she initially thought it was a joke, but was shocked to learn it was true. Her comment to the police officer, "Well, for 6 months we'll just drive secretly," also shocked the officers.
The teams of the Traffic Registration and Supervision Department of the Provincial Police Department, who were conducting routine road checks on Aksaray Ebulfeyz Elçibey Street, stopped a car with the license plate 52 EC 450 heading towards the Theater Junction on suspicion. The driver, Miyase C. (22), who was subjected to a driver's license and registration check, was suspected by the traffic teams due to her nervous behavior. The teams conducted a breathalyzer test on the driver. It was determined that the female driver had a blood alcohol level of 1.12 promille, and she was removed from the vehicle for legal proceedings.
REPORTED THE DRIVER WHO WARNED HER AS "A THUG" Upon learning that she would be fined, Miyase C. reported another driver who warned her, "You can't drive like this," to the police officer. The driver, who told her, "Don't drive like this. I can drive my car properly, you be careful and I'll be careful, we won't have any problems," said, "The man is telling me, 'You are drunk, I will report you. You can't drive like this.' What kind of thug is this, we live in Turkey," and reported the warning driver as a thug.
"WE WILL NOW DRIVE ILLEGALLY FOR 6 MONTHS" "I drank alcohol 4-5 hours ago. One beer, my body is already weak, I don't understand how it came out this much with just one beer. I don't know 1.12, I couldn't make sense of it," said Miyase C., who asked the police officers for her driver's license at the police car where she was taken for legal proceedings. The female driver, who said, "Give me my driver's license, I need it," initially thought the police officer's statement, "Your driver's license has been confiscated for 6 months," was a joke and replied, "You are joking." When she realized it was true, the shocked driver reacted, "Did my driver's license go for 6 months? I don't have my driver's license for 6 months? This is very bad." She then shocked the officers with her words, "Well, we will drive illegally for 6 months." Later, the female driver asked a citizen standing on the sidewalk, "Are you here until the 3rd month?" and after the citizen replied "Yes," she asked, "Can you take me around?" which drew attention.
BEGGED NOT TO BE FILMED BY JOURNALISTS While all this was happening, Miyase C., realizing she was being filmed by journalists, pleaded with the press members, "For God's sake, don't film. Look, my father is a tradesman, don't film. Don't film, I will complain, look. For God's sake, don't film. Don't let them film."
HER DRIVER'S LICENSE WAS CONFISCATED The female driver was fined 9,268 lira for driving under the influence of alcohol, and her driver's license was confiscated for 6 months. Additionally, legal proceedings were initiated against the female driver for driving under the influence of alcohol, and she was taken to the police station to give her statement. The vehicle was handed over to a relative who was called to the scene.
